History of Crossleys

G Crossley and Son Ltd. has been giving property valuations and professional advice in North West England since 1926.

Our History

The company was founded June 1926, by Geoffrey Crossley, where it started trading as Auctioneers and Estate Agents. The auctions usually sold the contents of the properties which were ultimately also sold.

Weekly auctions became a perfect introduction for Geoffrey’s Son Keith, to gain a key business eye. In 1954, Keith became RICS Chartered and Crossley’s began to trade professionally as Charted Surveyors. At this point the estate agency continued to gain momentum but it was decided to move away from auctions.

In 1984, Keith’s son Andrew became RICS chartered and with his introduction saw the establishment of a residential lettings portfolio and a Commercial property sales department. The Lettings department was managed for over 20 years by Keith’s Daughter and Andrew’s sister - Sally Booth. She amassed a grand portfolio of well respected landlords and trustworthy tenants. Since the start of the millennium Crossley’s have been involved in a high amount of Sustainable Renewable Energy Projects, a business path which was introduced due to the growing need of these systems.

Andrew is now co-director of Crossley’s and is still operating as a mRICS Surveyor. Andrew’s son Ben has been training and apart of the business since 2009. Ben has since then worked in most sectors of the Property industry , he has gained a BSc. in Geology , a MSc in Building surveying and in 2021 he became RICS Chartered and RICS Valuer Registered. Ben has plans to build and develop the business whilst ensuring to maintain the core values and morals which Andrew, Keith and Geoffrey all stood by.
